The Film Intensive is structured as a four-day, in-person training program held over consecutive Sundays. Each session runs from 10 AM to 6 PM and combines focused instruction, real-world case studies, and Q&A (as time allows).
The course is designed to mirror the professional workflow of producing a film — moving step-by-step through development, pre-production, production, post, and distribution. Participants will receive handouts, reference materials, and a complete roadmap outlining every stage of the process.
This is a classroom-style intensive emphasizing the business and logistics of filmmaking — how projects are financed, managed, and sold in today’s industry.
Over four intensive sessions, you’ll gain a producer’s understanding of how films are actually made — from concept to completion — and how to make the business side of filmmaking work for you. Each day follows the real-world sequence of production, giving you a clear roadmap through every stage of the process.
Learn how producers find, develop, and package projects that get made. We’ll cover how to write or option a marketable script, determine a viable budget, identify your audience, approach and attach A-list actors, finance your film through multiple routes, and position your film for distribution from day one.
Understand how to break down a script, schedule principal photography, build a comprehensive budget, and hire the right crew. We’ll discuss insurance, payroll, SAG-AFTRA, permitting, and all the logistics that turn a project from paperwork into production.
Get a behind-the-scenes look at how professional producers run a set — managing time, crew, and costs while keeping creative integrity intact. Learn the chain of command, how to communicate effectively with department heads, how to solve real-world on-set challenges and all about the post production pipeline.
Discover how films are finished and brought to market. We’ll explore marketing, festival strategies, sales agents, aggregators, and distribution channels (theatrical, streaming, AVOD, SVOD, TVOD, PVOD and FAST). You’ll learn how revenue flows, how deals are structured, and how to plan your next project strategically.
